Moore Square District

The Moore Square District is one of Downtown Raleigh’s most storied and welcoming corners, anchored by Moore Square Park at its heart. Here, scenic greenspace meets a lively mix of culture, creativity, and community, from family-friendly attractions like Marbles Kids Museum and IMAX, to live music venues, local art galleries, and acclaimed dining spots.

Just steps from the park, City Market’s century-old cobblestone streets offer a glimpse into Raleigh’s past, while the district’s connections to Raleigh’s Black history remain an important part of its story. Nearby residential developments like SkyHouse, Edison, and The Lincoln contribute to a vibrant neighborhood feel.

With year-round events, iconic gathering spaces, and easy access via the GoRaleigh Transit Center, Moore Square is a place to slow down, explore, and experience the rhythm of Downtown Raleigh.

Downtown Destinations: Moore Square District

March 20th – April 3rd, 2026

Starting March 20th, we're shining a spotlight on the Moore Square District as part of Downtown Destinations: a celebration of Downtown Raleigh’s 6 distinct districts and the local businesses, history, and experiences that make each one unique.

For 2 weeks, DRA and friends will share must-try guides, business spotlights, and pro-tips for experiencing everything this vibrant and storied Southeast corner of downtown has to offer on our Instagram.

Then mark your calendars for April 3rd because the celebration wraps up with a gift card scavenger hunt throughout the district—follow us on Instagram @DowntownRaleighAlliance to know when/where—and a Sip n' Stroll-friendly First Friday walking tour with Raleigh Walking Tours.
