Warehouse District

Once home to bustling manufacturing facilities and coal yards, the Warehouse District has evolved into one of Downtown Raleigh’s most distinctive neighborhoods, where historic character meets modern urban living. Repurposed brick buildings now house a growing mix of creative spaces, cocktail bars, restaurants, shopping, residential living, and tech offices, all contributing to the district’s creative, industrial-meets-modern identity.

With Raleigh Union Station and regional transit at its center, the district serves as both a gateway into Downtown Raleigh and a neighborhood with a strong sense of identity and connectivity. Residents can find everyday essentials close to home, including one of Downtown Raleigh’s grocery stores, Weaver Street Market, alongside residential communities like The Dillon, MAA Hue, and Platform Apartments.

Adding to the district’s character are nearby green spaces like Nash Square and Dix Park, walkable connections to the historic Boylan Heights neighborhood, and iconic panoramic skyline views from Boylan Bridge. The Warehouse District is also widely recognized as Raleigh’s “Gayborhood,” shaped over the years by inclusive, culture-defining gathering spaces and a longstanding spirit of creativity and community. Today, that legacy continues through the neighborhood’s vibrant mix of people, arts, nightlife, and local experiences.
