Fayetteville Street District

The Fayetteville Street District is where Downtown Raleigh’s civic, business, and cultural life meet.

Often called North Carolina’s Main Street, Fayetteville Street brings together offices, apartments, restaurants, independent shops, hotels, and public gathering spaces. More than 130 businesses line the corridor, including more than 60 restaurants and 15 bars and nightlife spots.

The street stays active throughout the year, hosting some of the region’s biggest celebrations and street festivals while connecting visitors with more than 20 arts and cultural venues. Major destinations like Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts, Red Hat Amphitheater, and the Raleigh Convention Center bring concerts, performances, conventions, and other events to the district.

There’s plenty to explore between events, too, from coffee shops and longtime Raleigh favorites to destination restaurants, cocktail bars, boutiques, and independent retailers. With apartments and hotels woven throughout, Fayetteville Street is a place to work, live, dine, shop, and spend time downtown.

Grab coffee before work, catch a show, meet friends for dinner, or wander the shops. Fayetteville Street brings together many of the experiences that make Downtown Raleigh a destination for visitors, residents, and workers.

Starting Friday, September 11th, DRA will shine a spotlight on the Fayetteville Street District as part of Downtown Destinations: a celebration of Downtown Raleigh’s 6 distinct districts and what makes each one unique.

For 2 weeks, DRA and friends will share must-try guides, business features, and pro-tips for experiencing everything this around-the-clock downtown neighborhood has to offer.

Get ready for September 25th because the celebration wraps up with a Downtown Raleigh Gift Card treasure hunt throughout the district.
