Raleigh’s Warehouse District boasts both a rich LGBTQIA+ history and dozens of local, independently owned businesses and community organizations. This artwork celebrates a family exploring the neighborhood’s history, community, and local shops during a First Friday outing.

The artist, Kalee (Kiwi) Calhoun, was born and raised in Raleigh, NC, and is currently a Master of Fine Arts Candidate at the Rhode Island School of Design. She is passionate about queer culture, storytelling, shopping local, functional art & crafts, bright colors, and spending time in nature.
