This design is an enlarged detail of a 72" x 62" piece titled "Granite Planet" created by artist Ann Roth. She made the piece by painting large sheets of Tyvek with acrylic paints, cutting them apart and interlacing them to create a new composition. Ann says "One sheet reminded her of granite, and another suggested planets in orbit. I thought the brilliant colors and whimsy of the curves and convolutions would be eye catching to both pedestrians and drivers."
