The historic Oakwood neighborhood is the oldest neighborhood in Raleigh at least partially outside of the downtown.
In addition to seeing the major architectural styles in the neighborhood, this route will also introduce you to some of the minor architectural styles that are found in Oakwood. We will see several gorgeous Second Empire homes, and we will even take a look at three houses that were purchased from the Sears Catalog in 1912! We will also explore the small area of commercial buildings located on N. Bloodworth St.
Our final stop will be at the "Nightmare on Elm Street," which has some of the best Halloween decorations in the neighborhood! Because we will be ending the tour there, you will have plenty of time to take in all of the decorations at your leisure.
