Savor the Summer with Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week, August 18-August 24

Week-long culinary event sizzles with over 35 restaurants and new elite menu

RALEIGH, NC (August 5, 2014) —The Downtown Raleigh Alliance (DRA) is excited to announce the return of  Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week, Monday, August 18-Sunday, August 24, 2014 featuring over 35 downtown culinary hotspots. Downtown’s favorite dining event invites patrons to delve into their inner foodie and take advantage of the special offerings at the participating restaurants during their normal dinner hours. To elevate the fine-dining component, DRA has added a new and exclusive “$65 Elite Experience” offering for diners seeking a first-class experience.

The treasured culinary event will offer tantalizing, three-course prix fixe dinners for either $20 or $30 per person, depending on the venue (tax, tip, and beverages not included). Select venues will offer three-course beer or wine pairings for an additional $10 per person. This year, select venues will also offer a new and exciting “Elite Experience” option, an exclusive multi-course culinary dinner including drink pairings, an appetizer, and dessert for $65 along with premier service. Although no tickets are required, reservations are strongly recommended (when applicable).

Last year’s event drew participation from 35 restaurants and over 10,400 diners took advantage of the Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week menu—generating over $260,000 in total restaurant revenue. With its highest level of participation yet, this year’s Restaurant Week seeks to build on downtown’s positive momentum.

By showcasing downtown Raleigh’s appealing dining options, Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week will spur both locals and out of town diners to revisit old favorites and, best of all, try new places.

“Restaurant Week offers a unique experience for downtown residents because of the tremendous density of walkable dining in downtown,” said Tracey Barnes, a resident in Glenwood South. “The event allows us to explore downtown’s creative culinary scene and enjoy fine dining options at a lower price-point.”

Although no tickets are required, reservations are strongly recommended. Reservation links powered by Open Table (when applicable) are now available on the Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week website. To plan your delicious itinerary, please visit www.DineDowntownRaleigh.com.
