Savor a “Taste of Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week” during Honey Buzztival at the Raleigh Downtown Farmers Market

RALEIGH, NC (August 10, 2016) –  The Downtown Raleigh Alliance is giving you a sneak peak of Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week during Honey Buzztival today at the Raleigh Downtown Farmers Market.

Three downtown chefs – Chef Amanda Haisley from Buku, Chef Donaldo Guzman from Sitti, and Chef Joseph Yarnell from 18 Seaboard will demonstrate how to make items they’ll be serving on their Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week menus.  These demonstrations will run from 11:00 am to 1:15 pm, giving the media a chance to see and taste these food items and talk to the chefs.

Of course, Honey Buzztival is the Market’s annual celebration of local honey. 

Three of our regular vendors, Hilltop Farms, Creekside Farm, and The Carolina Bee Company, will be on-site selling locally-made honey products. 

This week only, the Market will host two special honey producers:

  • Heaven Scent Honey sells a variety of products including soaps, candles, body lotions and lip balms. 
  • Beekeeper Steve Hildebrand will demonstrate how to make honey with a live beehive.

Other special guests to the Market for Honey Buzztival include Crank Arm Brewing Company with live music by Matt Phillips Trio.

We invite the public to taste bites of the chefs’ menu items, as well as sample various flavors of local honey.

As always, the Market will host a variety of regular vendors, including North Carolina farmers, ranchers, nurserymen, bakers, specialty food producers, and craftsmen.

Please note that Fayetteville Street will be closed between Davie and Lenoir Streets each Wednesday, through September 28, from 6 am – 4 pm for the Raleigh Downtown Farmers Market.
