Ipreo Raleigh Winterfest Turns Fayetteville Street into a Winter Wonderland Tomorrow

RALEIGH, NC (December 2, 2016) – Raleigh’s premier holiday celebration spreads its cheer tomorrow on Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh.  Ipreo Raleigh Winterfest, a free event produced by the Downtown Raleigh Alliance in keeping with its mission to provide high-quality outdoor events, will take place tomorrow, Saturday, December 3 from 12 noon – 8 pm.

New to this year’s Ipreo Raleigh Winterfest is the Kids’ Zone.  Programmed by Cirque de Vol, and the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, the Kids’ Zone features a mini-aerial rig, an interactive hula hoop and jungle jam, and a King Frost living statue, as well as a lesson in tracking local animals.

The family-friendly event also features rides (Ferris wheel, carousel, super slide), Santa’s Village, a Gingerbread House Competition, the Ice Raleigh Skating Rink, beer, several food trucks, and more!

There will be five different musical acts, headlined by Holy Ghost Tent Revival.  Other acts include Three Jack Jenny, Christiane & The Strays, Rebekah Todd & The Odyssey, and The Midatlantic.

Mayor Nancy McFarlane’s Official Tree Lighting Ceremony will cap off the evening in the picturesque City Plaza starting at 7:15 pm.  The tree will officially be lit at 7:22 pm.
