Ealdwine specializes in Alden shoes in addition to an assortment of ready to wear apparel, made to measure suits and shirts, leather goods, jewelry and more. Matthew & Jim chose to locate in downtown Raleigh because they want to engage the community of our fine capital city and home.
“Ealdwine is a passion project of mine and Store Director Jim Pietryka,” said Matthew Gray. “Ealdwine is an Old English name meaning “Old Friend”. The name Alden, our premier shoe company and centerpiece of the store, is derived from the name Ealdwine and shares the same meaning.”
Going forward, the shop will be open Monday through Friday from 9am – 6pm, Saturday from 10am – 6pm and Sunday by appointment. Ealdwine plans to become a vital part of the community by providing a unique shopping experience in the expanding downtown retail area.
