Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week Kicks Off with 41 Dining Hotspots

Diners to explore the culinary talent in the heart of the capital city

RALEIGH, NC (August 15, 2014) — Forty-one of downtown Raleigh’s finest restaurants will welcome diners to the 6th Annual Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week, today, Monday, August 18 through Sunday, August 24. With its highest level of participation yet, Restaurant Week is expected to draw thousands to experience downtown’s culinary cachet with chef-crafted prix fixe menus at special rates.

The week-long foodie event offers tantalizing, three-course prix fixe dinners for either $20 or $30 per person, depending on the venue (tax, tip, and beverages not included). Select venues will offer three-course beer or wine pairings for an additional $10 per person.  To elevate the fine dining experience component, Restaurant Week has added a new and exciting “Elite Experience” option, an exclusive multi-course culinary dinner including drink pairings, an appetizer, and dessert for $65. Although no tickets are required, reservations are strongly recommended (when applicable).

For five years, the event strives to create a fun and creative opportunity to spur both locals and out-of-town diners to try new places, dine at old favorites, and taste a variety of exceptional dishes being prepared by chefs at a great value for customers. Newly-opened restaurants Jose and Sons (formerly Jibarra), Plates Kitchen, Oak City Meatball Shoppe, and The Oakz are among the 41 participants of Restaurant Week.

“Restaurant Week offers a unique experience for downtown residents because of the tremendous density of walkable dining in downtown,” said Tracey Barnes, a resident in Glenwood South. “The event allows us to explore downtown’s creative culinary scene and enjoy fine dining options at a lower price-point.”

Although no tickets are required, reservations are strongly recommended. Reservation links powered by Open Table (when applicable) are now available on the Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week website. To plan your delicious itinerary, please visit www.DineDowntownRaleigh.com.
