RALEIGH, NC (April 6, 2016) – The Downtown Raleigh Alliance is excited to announce the seventh season of the Raleigh Downtown Farmers Market.  The market returns Wednesday, May 4 from 10 am –2 pm at City Plaza with our Carolina Kickoff event featuring grab and go lunches from The Pit Authentic Barbecue, a beer tasting with Foothills Brewing Company and live music from Dark Water Rising.

 

The market hosts more than 40 rotating vendors that include North Carolina farmers, ranchers, fisherman, nurserymen, bakers, cheese makers, specialty food producers, and craftsman.  It’s the perfect place for downtown residents and workers to grab a quick lunch or fresh items for a healthy mid-week meal.

 

This season welcomes 10 new local farmers and producers: Alora’s Soaps & Stuff, Bluegrass Farm, C.V. Pilson, Homemade Kombucha, Jones Farm, NC Soap Opera Company, Rare Earth Farms, Sweet Peas Urban Garden, The Bath Place, and Treat.

 

We’re also excited to have four local restaurants offering grab and go lunches:  The Pit Authentic Barbecue, Buku, Kimbap, and Rye Bar & Southern Kitchen.

 

This season’s specialty festivals include:

 

Carolina Kick off – Wednesday, May 4

CheesePlease – Wednesday, June 29

Honey Buzztival – Wednesday, August 8

Bluegrass Breakdown – Wednesday, September 28
