This community project was created for the Downtown Raleigh Alliance 2025 Feminist First Friday celebration. Artist Sarah Rosa Glickman of Art by SRG designed and painted the outline and community members spent the evening filling the board with messages and images of encouragement and empowerment.

Featured in the piece are the following female firsts of North Carolina (from left to right):

SUSAN DIMOCK - One of the first female physicians in the country.
TABITHA ANN HOLTON - First licensed female lawyer in NC.
SIGRID TAYLOR - First Black female basketball player at Duke University.
PAM GRIER - First female action movie star in the country.
GERTRUDE D. McKEE - First female to serve on NC State Senate.
ANNA JULIA HAYWOOD - First Black female to receive a master's degree in the country.
ISABELLA CANNON - First female mayor of Raleigh.
