Join BLOOMHERE safely at Dram & Draught in Raleigh on Thursday, October 15, 2020, at 8 p.m. for an in-conversation event with author Rachael Brooks, about her memoir, “Beads: A Memoir About Falling Apart and Putting Yourself Back Together Again”! Beads details Rachael’s experience with sexual assault. Her story speaks to the challenges that survivors face and the range of emotions they feel throughout the recovery process. Her story takes places immediately following her graduation from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and describes the many injustices she experienced within the justice system, which are still very pertinent today. There are three tickets available to join us for the event: virtual admission and book for those who prefer to join in from home; live event admission and a copy of the book; live event admission, a copy of the book, and wine tasting. Proceeds from Wine & Words will benefit BLOOMHERE, which provides women survivors of abuse, addiction, prostitution, and trafficking a safe place to live, and space and resources to heal. A cash bar for additional beverages will also be available with 10% of sales benefitting BLOOMHERE as well. Following the event, there will be time allotted for a Q&A with Rachael as well as a book signing, so come prepared with all your burning questions!
