Durham, NC based woodworker, Ian Herdell, has been honing his design and crafting skills since 2009. Ian specializes in designing and building custom furniture and wall art. In his wall pieces he often uses marquetry. Marquetry is an ancient technique where elaborate patterns are formed by inserting natural materials such as wood pieces or shell. Ian is a member of the Piedmont Craftsmen, and the Carolina Designer Craftsmen Guilds. He has shown work at fine art shows on both coasts and has work in private collections around the world.
