Think outside the box of chocolates this Valentine’s Day and take your sweetheart on this entertaining walking tour featuring historic local love stories, some of which ended tragically in broken hearts! Don’t have a date? Then bring a group of gal pals and make it a cool Galentine’s Day outing instead!!

Note from Organizers: Because it’s February, we won’t keep you out in the cold ‘til you freeze! The tour lasts approximately 1 hour, but may be slightly shorter depending on the size and speed of the group.

This tour will NOT start and end at the same place. We will start on the sidewalk outside the front gate of the Governor's Mansion at 200 N. Blount St. The Governor's Mansion takes up an entire city block, so please make sure that you are on the Blount St. side of the mansion. The starting point is in the middle of the block. Please do NOT attempt to enter the grounds of the Governor's Mansion at any time, especially through any of the entrances at the corners of the block. Also, please do not call the Governor's Mansion or buzz any of the intercoms at the Mansion gates.

The tour will finish near the Legislative Building/History Museum at 16 W. Jones St., which is approximately 2 blocks from the starting point. Please plan your parking accordingly! There is plenty of free parking both on the street and in parking lots near the starting point. In addition, there will not be any restroom breaks or stops for food/drinks, and we will not be entering any buildings during the tour.

This tour is pay-what-you-want -- if you enjoy the tour, please compensate your guide appropriately! Usually, the guide receives $10 to $15 per adult, but you are free to give more or less than that, depending on how you feel about your tour. As you can imagine, the tour guide has to work hard to earn your appreciation!
