Join us for a virtual wine tasting with Winemaker/Sommelier Michael Kennedy, Components Wine Company as part of DRINK’s Week of Wine to support the TWFE and their efforts to raise funds for The Frankie Lemmon School.

Michael has been recognized as a trailblazer and innovative winemaker with his single varietals, historic vineyard use and winemaking projects around the globe.

Michael has worked as Head Sommelier for Chef Eric Ripert, Ritz-Carlton Hotels, where he created one of the top 100 Wine lists in the world. He served as beverage director of Cayman Cookout with Anthony Bourdain, Jose Andres and Ripert. In 2013, Michael and Rachel Kennedy created their own boutique winery, Component Wine Company, which focuses on the single varietal from vineyards that would normally create iconic blends. Component Wine Company is a boutique producer of premium 100% varietal wines in Napa Valley and France. Component Wine focuses on producing the finest, most pure expression of each varietal. The goal of Component is to allow collectors and wine lovers to see beyond the blend, highlighting the essence of the individual varietal. Michael’s idea and wines have been so unique that he as been written about in Bloomberg, Barons and Forbes magazines. Never one to sit still, Michael has created multiple partnerships and wine projects with the singular goal of producing beautiful wines that you can drink now or cellar.

In 2016, they embarked upon a partnership with the winemaking team from Chateau Lynch-Bages in Bordeaux to create wines in France. In 2018, Kennedy and longtime winemaker friend Marc Gagnon (Bryant Family, Screaming Eagle) partnered to begin an historic vineyard project called Gagnon-Kennedy Vineyards, which had its first vintage in 2020. He is also a partner in State of Mind Wines - a collaboration winery that produces single vineyard wines from Oregon, Washington and California.
