In this workshop we will explore nervous system regulation: what it is, why it’s important to our health, and practice techniques to do this in real life. We will discuss why chronically being in a fight or flight state can lead to widespread health problems and burnout. In our hustle culture that glorifies productivity, nervous system regulation is a great antidote to an anxious mind and gives us a way to reset, tune into our bodies and emotions, and slow down. We will then discuss herbal allies in the nervine class to support us in calming down the nervous system. You will have the opportunity to taste these herbs and blend your own custom tea blends to take home! The act of blending your own loose leaf teas with quality organic ingredients is a mindful practice and when we combine that with the amazing support these herbs can give us, we have a powerful and magical antidote to our everyday anxious mind.
We will have seating for everyone, however they are folding chairs so bring anything that may make you more comfortable.
All supplies are provided for tea blending however if you would like to bring a mug to taste your blend as you craft please bring one if not one will be provided for you. I have tea bags that you can use to taste test your own teas but if you have a tea strainer you prefer to use feel free to bring that.
I do recommend having some food in your belly before class just so you aren't drinking a bunch of tea on an empty stomach which can get the digestive system going!
You can also bring water or other beverages. There is a restroom on site and a place for you to re-fill your water bottle.
Parking is available for free on the street and there are some spots in the lot right outside Current Wellness.
I will provide the slides I use electronically after the workshop however you may want to bring a notebook or journal to take additional notes and we may have some writing prompts.
