Gallery C is pleased to present a carefully curated selection of pastels by Elsie Dinsmore Popkin (1937-2205). These artworks have been released by the Estate for public view and sale.
Elsie Dinsmore Popkin is one of North Carolina’s most well known en plein air artists. Her untimely passing in 2005 deprived us of an ardent appreciator of the great outdoors. This show is comprised of landscapes from North Carolina and also her travels. A rare modernist painting on canvas, “Bedroom with Bay Window” is included. And of very special interest, two large charcoal sketches from the 1980’s of the orchestra at the Mostly Mozart Festival.
