Have you ever had a close call with a vehicle while riding your bike or walking?
We know that qualitative data on close calls in Raleigh is practically non existent. To support our advocacy work and better understand where roads feel unsafe for people riding bikes, scooters, PEVs, or walking, but where little to no collision data exists for city transportation planners, we need your help.
The Close Call campaign is designed to fill that gap. By placing stickers and flyers with a QR code that links to CloseCall.Report, we can collect simple information about near misses across Raleigh. To make this effort fun, we have created a ride challenge called SLAPCAT!
All participants will get a stack of stickers, select a zone on our map, and receive a manifest of priority spots for posting flyers and stickers. We will provide everything you need. You can go solo or form a team. The team or individual that distributes the most will win a small prize. And even if you do not win, everyone who registers will get a drink ticket and pizza on us!
