Details
Artspace in collaboration with Araminta Wellness presents Self-Care Sunday on April 3 from 10:00-11:00am. Move through gentle, beginner-friendly yoga movements and end with a guided relaxation practice meant to restore your mind, soul and body. This class will take place inside one of Artspace’s newest exhibitions; Shape Shifting by Zipporah C. Thompson and backed by neo-soul music. Please bring a mat and bottled water/refillable water bottle.
This practice seeks to provide access to peace, ease, joy etc. You are invited to consider where you are holding tension mentally, physically and emotionally and to experience the healing benefits of rest. The more you practice, the more you feel safe in stillness and learn that a state of rest is possible. “When your mind comes to stillness, your body relaxes. When your body relaxes, it involuntarily releases stress” (Parker, 18).
Tickets: $15 advance // $18 at the door

About Araminta Wellness
Patrice first attended a yoga class in 2008, but dismissed yoga as “just stretching.” After trying yoga again in 2012 she fell in love with the feeling of inner peace that the yoga practice provides. Inspired by the life-changing effects of Yoga in her own life, Patrice completed a 200hr Yoga Teacher Training. She aims to help impart the benefits of yoga to others, especially those that don’t feel represented.
Patrice owns Araminta Wellness which focuses on promoting rest, relaxation and healing for Black women. Araminta Wellness provides liberating healing work, including breathwork, movement and rest to promote healing to help women avoid burnout, overwhelm, and overall dis-ease.
