Tales of the pursuit of love and conquest come alive in one of the most colorful, evocative, and descriptive scores, guaranteed to capture the imagination: the spectacular showpiece Scheherazade. The program also includes Fanny Mendelssohn’s scintillating Overture in C Major and Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 2, a virtuosic dazzler created in bold strokes and robust colors.
