Do you want a safe space to explore queer identity, experience, and community in your writing? Queer poetry can manifest in many ways, including but not limited to: poems written by queer writers; poems about love, intimacy, and relationships within the community; coming-out poems; and poems for social activism. In this workshop, we will engage with the work of a wide range of queer poets both past and present. Alongside readings, the class will consist of discussion, in-class writing prompts for inspiration, and workshopping your own work. By the end of the class, you will have at least three new poems. This workshop is open to all members of the LGBTQ+ community, as well as those with close ties to it.
