WHAT: Join us for a free, public screening of PBS NC’s State of Change: Planting Piedmont Grasslands Helps
Fight Climate Change.
WHY: Grasslands and prairies are native to North Carolina’s ecosystem. These unassuming swaths of land provide critical habitat for wildlife and pollinators and can actually change the soil around them for the better - improving the soil’s ability to store carbon. By taking excess atmospheric carbon out of the air, prairies and grasslands have innumerable environmental benefits.
Dix Park Conservancy and Extra Terrestrial Projects have joined forces to spread the word about these impressive, native ecosystems!
WHO:
* Justin Robinson, Sustainable Landscapes Mgr. at Extra Terrestrial Projects
* Tara Mei Smith, Co-founder of Extra Terrestrial Projects
* Nick Neptune, Dix Park Conservancy Director of Outreach
