Gallery C is proud to present fifteen fresh canvases by the well known contemporary American painter Laura Lacambra Shubert. Schubert’s work can be found in private and corporate collections around the world. This exhibit is Shubert’s seventh one woman show at gallery C.
Shubert attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas Texas, graduating with a BFA in Painting, Printmaking and Drawing in 1986. She later studied painting at the Academy Port Royal in Paris. She was named a Fellow of London’s Royal Society of Arts in 2000.
Shubert works from life and from photographs. Shubert paints with broad strokes, weaving together light and shadow in a way that imbues each of her paintings with palpable energy. Her work is noted for a sense of elegance that enhances seemingly regular subjects with a sense of grace.
