Celebrate National Root Beer Float Day on August 6th. In honor of National Root Beer Float Day, The Willard will serve delicious root beer floats to benefit Duke Children’s Hospital, our local member of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, throughout the month of August.
Root Beer Float Day holds special meaning to hotels that are part of the Marriott family like AC Hotel Raleigh Downtown as it harkens back to 1927, when Marriott founders, J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott, opened a small A&W Root Beer stand to escape the Washington, D.C. heat. Today, we’re carrying on their legacy by offering root beer floats supporting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, a cause close to Marriott’s heart since 1983.
Indulge in a root beer float at The Willard on Thursday, August 6th. A portion of the proceeds from every purchase will be donated to Children’s Miracle Network to help provide care to local kids. Let’s make a splash for a great cause!
