Have you had a “shrub” drink before? If not, you might be thinking, “why would I drink a bush? That does not sound tasty!” On the contrary, shrub drinking vinegars are a delicious blend of sweet fruit with tart vinegar, creating a tasty and intriguing component for any alcohol-free (or alcohol-optional) cocktail. This class will introduce you to the fundamentals of creating shrub mocktails and then dive into how you can make your own shrub from local fruits (or even vegetables!). You’ll leave this class with a fruit shrub starter in a mason jar, which you’ll be able to steep at home to your own tastes.

If you don’t want to make your own shrub, we’ll also be sampling commercial versions of this beverage addition (including ones from Crude Bitters, just down the street from the Current!). Bring your tastebuds and creativity as we create basic shrub combinations and explore fun variations with herbs and other additions! No experience necessary and you’re welcome to bring your own spirit additions if you’d like to make the alcohol-based versions of drink recipes that we put together.
Cost: $35 single ticket/$60 ticket for two. Members, you get 20% off single tickets!
