Laura Sharlene Turner aims to educate about LGBT history through her printmaking. Laura makes LGBT political and pride art, touching on topics such as mental health, gun violence, homelessness, substance abuse, and child abuse. Laura hopes to educate the public about the struggles of the LGBT community in the United States.
These are topics that need to be seen and heard so solutions can be found. Laura studied printmaking at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is currently part of the Triangle Queer Artist Collective in Raleigh, NC.
