This free concert series brings you live jazz performances by the hottest local musicians, right in the heart of Moore Square.
Concert-goers will enjoy food trucks on-site and wine & beer for sale, so grab your friends, blankets, and chairs for an evening of great music as the sun sets on Downtown Raleigh. Let's make the city swing!
About the artist:
Gastón Reggio is an Uruguayan musician, educator, and composer with a diverse musical background, who has studied with renowned drummers Osvaldo Fattoruso and Daniel “Pipi” Piazzolla among many others in Uruguay and Argentina. The Gastón Reggio Group delves into Gastón's original compositions, a fusion inspired by the rich traditions of Candombe, the Afro-Uruguayan music, and Jazz, among other eclectic influences. The ensemble not only showcases Gastón's unique compositions but also offers reinterpretations ofn classics from the Uruguayan-Folk-Music repertoire, infusing them with a distinctive jazz sensibility. The group is comprised of exceptionally talented musicians, with Gastón Reggio on drums, Brandon Mitchell on vibraphone, Andy Powell on bass, and Charlie Garnett on guitar. The chemistry and musical depth of this group is undeniable.
