May is Preservation Month and Bike Month! Hop on your bike for a ride into history. The Raleigh Historic Development Commission (RHDC), in partnership with the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission (BPAC) and Raleigh Sister Cities, is hosting the 2nd annual Raleigh Historic Bike Ride.

This year, the 4-mile route includes stops at sites identified in our recently completed LGBTQIA+ Historic Context Study! RHDC volunteers at each site will share a brief history of the property.

The stops include:

  • Nash Square (200 S. McDowell St.)
  • Sir Walter Raleigh Hotel (400 Fayetteville St.)
  • Cameron Court Apartments (905 Hillsborough St.)
  • Women’s Culture Collective Coffeehouse (119 Hawthorne Rd.)
  • Pullen Memorial Baptist Church (1805 Hillsborough St.)
  • Legends Nightclub (330 W. Hargett St.)
