Internationally renowned Raleigh-based artist Taylor White has painted a 664-square-foot mural called “From the Ashes” on The Willard Rooftop. The mural was inspired by the work of plant collector William Willard Ashe, a botanist who was born in an antebellum home behind our hotel and whose family name graces a nearby cross street and inspired the name of our rooftop lounge.
Our bar team has created a specialty cocktail inspired by the mural. From the Ashes takes its inspiration from the natural world as it pairs Botanist gin and St. Germain elderflower liqueur with lavender, lemon, demerara and aquafaba. It’s on the menu through November 13.
