Anyone who's had to purchase new supplies knows how expensive and daunting it can be. With the rising cost of living, it starts to feel like practicing art is out of reach. In this age of convenience and consumption, where quick and "disposable" materials supersede sustainability, CoLab is celebrating artists who find beauty in the discarded and inspiration in the overlooked. We invite you to check out our upcoming gallery show "Reclaimed", dedicated to showcasing the creative potential of recycled and repurposed materials.

On First Friday, we’re excited to partner with the NC State Sustainability Stewards and Scrap Exchange to create an interactive art experience! Swing by CoLab to make an art patch, then take it down to the Fish Market to add it to a collaborative piece there! Materials were kindly donated by Scrap Exchange, who reminds us all that we should “Make Art, Not Trash!”

Also, while you’re at CoLab studio, paint with us on a crazy reclaimed canvas made from Scrap Exchange donations! There's also the amazing Five Dollar Sketch Wall- a novel way to build your art collection (even if you're broke) and help support CoLab at the same time, thanks to generous donations from our artists!

The Carter Building will be hopping Friday! While you're here, visit our awesome neighbors throughout the building!
