Art may have been declared "dead" by critics, but we're here to prove it's very much alive—undead, even! Our upcoming gallery show, Art is Undead, celebrates the resilience of creativity, its power to rejuvenate the soul, connect communities, and serve as a lifeline for personal growth and mental well-being. Oh, and zombies too! In a world that’s constantly evolving, art has risen from the grave and refuses to be buried!
Come see over 20 artists explore the timeless vitality of art, where every brushstroke, sculpture, or photograph becomes a piece of the living dead—resurrected through the heartbeats of those who create and experience it. Works that address deep personal healing, express transitions, give dead things new life, or just celebrate Halloween. Art is Undead is a playful yet profound reminder that art never truly dies; it just finds new ways to live.
And on First Friday, you can summon your own art demons, resurrect your art dead, or doodle up some ghosts on our collaborative painting. Come paint with us!
There's also the amazing Five Dollar Sketch Wall- a novel way to build your art collection (even if you're broke) and help support CoLab at the same time, thanks to generous donations from our artists!
The Carter Building will be hopping Friday! While you're here, visit our awesome neighbors throughout the building!
