Fiber Drawing w/ Linette Knight
Teen + Adult Workshop| Ages 16+ | Saturday October 10th, 1pm-5pm
Try your hand at drawing through an unexpected medium in this hands-on fiber art workshop. Rather than working with conventional drawing tools, participants will use yarn as a line-making material to create a textured and dimensional composition on a canvas.
Through guided demonstrations led by local artist Linette Knight, students will learn how to manipulate yarn with hot glue to establish lines, contours, patterns, and areas of shading. Participants will have the support they need to work freehanded or use a selection of stencils to develop imagery ranging from figures and objects to spaces and more abstract forms. By layering and shaping yarn, students will explore how line, texture, and color can be used to create depth and dimension.
No prior fiber or drawing experience is required. Open to all skill levels, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to expand your creative practice and create an original fiber-based artwork to display in your home or studio.
