Do you love oysters, but can’t get your partner or friends to appreciate them? Or have you always been “oyster curious” and just need to know a little more about their background to fall in love? Or maybe you have a person you want to fall in love with and know oysters might be a way to their heart!

Wherever you’re coming from, this casual oyster appreciation class will introduce why these bivalves are amazing, how they’re grown and harvested, and (maybe most importantly) ways to enjoy them. This will include a raw oyster tasting with tasty homemade sauces, as well as learning how to make roasted oysters with compound butter. You’ll leave with an oyster valentine card, including recipes, oyster tips, and other highlights from the evening.

You can expect to eat a hearty appetizer’s worth of oysters, which could be the perfect way to prepare for a dinner out to celebrate Valentine’s Day. This class will include one suggested pairing of wine, beer, or non-alcoholic beverage to enjoy throughout class. This is a “shucking optional” class: if you’d like to learn or practice your skills, our co-owner and resident shucker, Nathan Williams, will teach you or you can sit back, relax and let others do the shucking for you!

Saturday, February 14 from 4:00pm-5:30pm
