Echoes of Heroes brings together seasoned musicians with decades of experience to create a unique blend of rock and originals. Formed in 2017 by guitarist Roger Blake and vocalist John Panichello, the band is a reunion of long-time collaborators who’ve been rocking the Wilmington, NC music scene for over 30 years.
Roger Blake, a dynamic guitarist, songwriter, and producer, is known for his work with bands like Freemason and Hellbroth. His experience working with top regional artists shapes Echoes of Heroes' distinctive sound. Alongside him is John Panichello, the band’s charismatic lead singer and lyricist, who has a rich history in music and film, from performing on major TV shows like Dawson’s Creek to touring with top rock acts.
Rounding out the full band are Mike Ewing on bass, whose steady, melodic playing has powered past projects like Psykill and Hellbroth, and Jeff Thomas, a seasoned drummer who’s played with indie and rock bands from Chicago to the East Coast. Jeff’s 90s grunge influences and unique drumming style inject energy into the band's performances.
With their 2019 self-titled debut album, Echoes of Heroes has cemented their place in the rock scene, blending hard-hitting riffs, catchy hooks, and heartfelt lyrics. Whether performing as a duo or with the full band, they deliver a raw, authentic sound that's sure to captivate audiences at Slim's Dive Bar on January 17th at 8:00 PM.
