Centro, downtown Raleigh’s beloved Mexican restaurant, is celebrating its 19th anniversary with a special five-part dinner series beginning at 6pm on Thursday, Oct. 8.
The opening dinner brings together Centro owner Angela Salamanca and guest chef Bill Smith for a four-course meal and welcome cocktail. $120 per person, includes gratuity.
Dinner includes:
- Paricutín Spritz, a mezcal cocktail brightened with lime and avocado leaf cordial and finished with a black salt rim.
-Cóctel de camarón served with house-made corn chips
-Tamal de calabacitas: a pumpkin grit tamal with pumpkin mole and fresh herbs.
-Corned ham taquiza served with fresh corn tortillas, oregano pickled onions, chiles toreados and two salsas.
-Atlantic Beach Pie, the salty-sweet lemon pie Smith helped make a North Carolina favorite.
