An introduction to ballet with good food, connection, and reflection :star:
This workshop is designed for adults who are curious about ballet—whether you’re brand new to it or have a complicated history you’re ready to revisit and reimagine. Christina began ballet at the age of three, and while the form has been a lifelong outlet, she now offers it through a trauma-informed, inclusive lens. This space welcomes all abilities, bodies, and backgrounds.
This is Part 2 of the Ballet for Beginner’s Workshop Series. In Part 1 on May 3rd, we were introduced to piles and tendus. In Part 2 of the series, you will be guided through a new set of ballet positions and movements with a whole new playlist. Part 1 is not a requirement but certainly is helpful if someone hasn’t practiced piles and tendus in a minute.
We’ll begin by getting to know one another through introductions and a guided journal reflection, creating a welcoming and intentional space for connection. From there, we’ll continue our exploration of the foundational elements of ballet focusing on foot, arm, leg, and head positioning in an accessible and supportive way, followed by additional reflection time to thoughtfully process the experience. We’ll then move across the floor and learn a small, playful routine that builds confidence and embodiment of the technique.
We’ll close the afternoon by slowing down together and debriefing over a shared meal prepared by Jay Ross. Menu coming soon!
Cost: Sliding scale $75–$95
