As part of Women's History Month, DRA is stationing four female artists along Glenwood Avenue as part of March First Friday. Throughout the evening, go in and out of Glenwood South First Friday venues and enjoy the following women along your walk:

Durham native Emily Musolino will play live music outside The Raleigh Wine Shop from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm. The Berklee College of Music graduate mixes soulful vocals with shredding blues and rock guitar riffs. Musolino has opened for and collaborated with artists like Ani DiFranco, Shana Tucker, Eric Hirsh, and others.

Painter Britt Flood will be live painting near Vidrio at 510 Glenwood Ave from 6:15 pm-8:15 pm. Her work focuses on visualizing themes of growth, intimacy, and the feminine perspective, with a goal to provide moments of awe and wonder to the viewer. A recipient of the 2019-2020 Ella Pratt Emerging Artist Grant from Durham Arts Council, Flood has collaborated with North Carolina Museum of Art, Flint Public Art, Mural Durham, and more.

Sarah Summers will be performing live music from 6:00 pm-7:00 pm outside The Carter Building. A North Carolina native, Summers’ style is often described as acoustic soul and compared to the sounds of India Arie. Her live performances are both captivating and sincere, delighting audiences throughout the Triangle at festivals like Downtown Raleigh’s Hopscotch and Durham’s Art of Cool.

Performer Nicole from Imagine Circus will be roaming between The Carter Building and Hibernian Pub from 7:00 pm-8:00 pm with her LED hoops. Her performances lend a magic to the evening that’s hard to describe until you’ve seen it in person.
