Details
Gallery C presents three artists, each acclaimed in the genre of water media. William Wright has a realist style that is noted for its dramatic light and crisp clarity. He works in the traditional watercolor method of layering transparent washes on paper working light to dark and teaches master classes. Kathy Daywalt enjoys the give and take that water media provides. She employs a variety of media: watercolor, gouache, watercolor crayons, and pencils. Her use of Yupo paper as her substrate provides the opportunity to work pattern directly into the wet medium. Lynn Cothern pushes the boundaries as well. Her fresh approach mixes ink, watercolor and collage on board and paper. The resulting portrayals of still lives and landscapes are full of seductive, rich colors and complicated surfaces.
